Meet Timothy J. Rohr: A Top Caldwell County Attorney

Timothy J. Rohr is a founding partner of Wilson, Lackey, Rohr & Hall, P.C. He has been representing people in Caldwell, Catawba, and Burke Counties for more than 27 years. T.J. has represented thousands of clients charged with felonies and misdemeanors, including drug charges such as possession, sale, and trafficking, DWI, murder, assault, larceny, embezzlement, and serious sex offenses. T.J. lived in North Carolina for several years as a child. He returned to North Carolina and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning his undergraduate degree in 1991. Upon obtaining his law degree from UNC in 1994, he immediately began the practice of law in Caldwell County and Lenoir, where he has lived and practiced for his entire legal career of nearly 30 years.  In the past, he served as the President and Vice President of the Caldwell County Bar Association. It is this experience that makes him a top attorney in Caldwell, Burke, and Catawba Counties.

Throughout his time in Caldwell County and Lenoir, T.J. Rohr has served the community. He served as a member of the Lenoir City Council from 2003 until 2019 and has been the attorney for Lenoir since that time. He served as an active member of the North Carolina League of Municipalities Legislative Action Committee from 2007 to 2013. At the national level, T.J. has been a member of the National League of Cities Finance, Administration, and Intergovernmental Relations Committee since 2012, advocating for the interests of the citizens of Lenoir.

On a More Personal Note

T.J. Rohr has dedicated himself to the law and defending those who call North Carolina home. However, when he’s not standing up for his clients or researching a case, he spends time with his family. He has been married longer than he’s been practicing law, as he married his wife, Lisa, back in 1991 right after they both graduated from UNC. Together, the couple has two children.

To help unwind from his time as an attorney, T.J. enjoys running. Whether it is a 5K, 10K, or occasionally even a half-marathon, T.J. has participated in several races at the local level over the last ten years. When he decides to kick his feet up and trade his jogging shoes for slippers, he enjoys playing board games and card games and watching movies with his family. In his own time, he’s just as comfortable reading a comic book, science fiction, or fantasy as he is reading Shakespeare.

As anyone might guess, T.J. lives and dies with the North Carolina Tar Heels. He stormed Franklin Street in 1993 when UNC won the basketball title over Michigan (who can forget the fabled Chris Webber timeout). He has also been a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan since the 1970s. He was struck mute when they won the 2016 World Series. He has also won several fantasy baseball titles in a league he’s been in with friends since the early ‘90s.
